[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군은 지난 6월 28일부터 지속된 장마로 인해 재난의 예방·대비·대응·복구 등 신속한 대처를 위하여 가평군 지역자율방재단원 10명을 긴급 소집했다고 전했다.

자율방재단은 계속되는 폭우 속에서도 하천 유수 소통을 위해 지장물을 제거하고 배수로 잡목제거, 맨홀 침전물 제거했으며. 위험지역 순찰은 물론 재난 지역통제와 응급복구 등 활동을 다각적으로 벌였다고 했다.

한편, 지난 30일에는 가평군통합관제센터에서는 CCTV를 관찰하던 중 갑자기 늘어난 개울물에 갇힌 차량을 발견하여 119에 신고, 차량에 타고 있던 두 부부를 구출할 수 있었다고 했다.

이러한 노력들로 가평군은 지난 30일 평균 강우량이 196.7mm로 많은 비가 내렸지만 큰 피해를 막을 수 있었다고 전했다.

가평군 관계자는 “지속된 폭우 속에서도 생업을 접고 현장에 투입되어 침수복구를 위해 몸을 아끼지 않은 방재단원들의 수고에 감사하다”며 “CCTV 속 작은 상황도 놓치지 않고 사고 예방에 앞장서고 있는 통합관제센터 직원들의 노고에도 감사드린다”라고 밝혔다.
