[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 4월 26일, 김상회 수원시장 예비후보는 김상회캠프를 깜짝 방문해 지지 응원을 해준 수원공고 동문회원들에게 “수공인의 자부심으로 수원시장에 오르겠다”고 고마운 마음을 전했다.

‘상회야, 시장가자’라는 현수막까지 준비해온 수원공고 동문회원들은 수공총동문회 이상용 회장을 비롯해 황영만 1회 졸업생, 황근순 총동문회 자문위원, 최수길 수공FC 후원회장, 최종현, 황대호 경기도의원, 이현구 수원시의원, 최충열 경기도의원 예비후보 등 다수가 참석해 김상회 후보에게 힘을 실어줬다고 했다.

이날 지지 방문을 주도한 이상용 총동문회장은 “수원공고 건축과 9기인 김상회 수원시장 예비후보가 꼭 승리해서 수공인의 자부심을 올려달라”며 응원했고 황근순 총동문회 자문위원은 “수원공고가 수원의 산업화 인재가 된 것처럼 수원시장이 돼서 특례시를 완성해달라”는 덕담도 곁들였다.

이외에도 여러 동문들이 김상회 예비후보에게 수원특례시 적임자라며 승리기원 덕담을 통해 수공인의 결의를 보여주었다고 전했다.

김상회 수원시장 예비후보는 “늦은 시간인데도 하루의 피로를 접고 저를 지지방문해준 수공인들에게 눈물나도록 고맙다”며 “학교 다닐 때 친구들이 놀렸던 ‘상회야 시장가자’라는 말이 현실이 될 수 있도록 수공인의 자긍심으로 꼭 승리하겠다”고 의지를 다졌다.

김상회 예비후보는 문재인정부 청와대 대통령비서실 자치발전비서관실 행정관을 역임한 자치발전 전문가다. 현재 대한민국특례시시장협의회 특별보좌관, 수원특례시발전연구소 소장으로 활동하고 있다고 밝혔다.

안룡초등학교, 수원중학교, 수원공업고등학교 건축과, 서울신학대 신학과를 졸업했으며, 경기대 일반대학원 행정학 박사과정을 수료했다고 전했다.

한국민예총 수원지부장, 원천천물사랑시민모임 대표, 경기국제인형극제 집행위원장·총감독, 녹색자치경기연대 상임대표 등 거쳐 지난 2010년 경기도의회 의원, 더불어민주당 경기도당 정책실장, 제19대 대선 경기도국민주권선대위 전략기획실장, 제20대 대선 더불어민주당 경기도당 선대위 선거대책본부 공동부본부장 등을 역임했다고 밝혔다.
