[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 4월 22일 김상회 수원시장 예비후보(더불어민주당)는 지구의 날을 맞아 ‘김상회와 함께 쓰레기 줍깅가자’ 라는 타이틀로 환경운동 캠페인을 펼쳤다고 전했다. 

지동교에서 화홍문(방화수류정)까지 수원천을 따라 약 1.2KM에 걸쳐 환경정화활동으로 진행된 이날 캠페인은 김 후보의 SNS에 게시된 번개모임 글을 보고 나온 시민들과 함께 진행됐다고 했다.

김상회 수원시장 예비후보는 “기후변화위기 처한 지구를 위해 환경을 돌보는 이벤트를 마련했다”며 “오늘 캠페인을 계기로 조금 더 환경을 생각하는 수원특례시가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

이날 캠페인에 참여한 10여명의 시민들을 위해 과거 ‘시민문화광장 역사탐방’을 기획했던 김상회 예비후보가 수원천과 방화수류정에 대한 역사적 이야기를 즉석에서 들려줘 참가자들의 호응을 얻기도 했다고 전했다.  

이날 SNS를 보고 줍깅(플로깅) 캠페인에 참여했다는 인계동 박모씨는 “지구의 날인데 줍깅행사를 한다고 하니 재미있을 거 같아서 참여했다”며 “특히 수원에 살면서도 전혀 몰랐던 방화수류정에 대해 이야기를 알 수 있어서 더 좋았다”고 참여 소감을 전했다.

김상회 수원시장 예비후보는 “어젯밤에 개인 SNS에 소식을 올리면서 누가 오겠나 생각하고, 혼자라도 할 요량이었는데 여러 시민들이 참여해줘서 깜짝 놀랐다”며 “수원시민들과 함께해서 더 뜻 깊은 행사가 되었다”고 말했다.

한편 ‘줍깅’은 스웨덴어의 줍다(plocka up)와 영어단어 달리기(jogging)의 합성어인 ‘플로깅(plogging)’ 봉사활동으로 걷거나 뛰면서 길거리의 쓰레기를 줍는 활동을 뜻하는 신조어라고 했다. 

김상회 예비후보는 문재인 대통령을 보필해 ‘청와대 대통령비서실 자치발전비서관실 행정관’을 역임했으며 현재 대한민국특례시시장협의회 특별보좌관, 수원특례시발전연구소 소장을 맡고 있다고 했다. 

안룡초등학교, 수원중학교, 수원공업고등학교 건축과, 서울신학대 신학과를 졸업했으며, 경기대 일반대학원 행정학 박사과정을 수료했다고 전했다.

한국민예총 수원지부장, 원천천물사랑시민모임 대표, 경기국제인형극제 집행위원장·총감독, 녹색자치경기연대 상임대표 등 거쳐 2010년 경기도의회 의원, 더불어민주당 경기도당 정책실장, 제19대 대선 경기도국민주권선대위 전략기획실장, 제20대 대선 더불어민주당 경기도당 선대위 선거대책본부 공동부본부장 등을 역임했다고 했다.
