[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 4월 25일 김상회 수원시장 예비후보이 더불어민주당 경기도당에 TV공개토론 요청서를 제출했다고 밝혔다.

김상회 수원시장 예비후보는 지난 22일 개인 SNS를 통해 당내면접을 통과한 김준혁 전 더불어민주당 경기도당 대변인, 김희겸 전 행정안전부 재난안전관리본부장(차관급), 이재준 전 수원시 제2부시장에게 ‘수원시민들께 후보를 검증할 기회를 드리자’며 TV공개토론을 제안했다고 전했다.

이어 3명의 후보에게 개별적으로 연락을 취해 TV공개토론 만장일치 합의를 이끌어낸 김상회 수원시장 예비후보는 “시민들에게 더불어민주당 후보들의 구체적인 정치철학과 비전에 대해 시민들이 토론을 보고 판단할 수 있는 기회를 드릴 수 있을 것 같아 기쁘다”며 “공개토론 제안을 흔쾌히 받아준 세 분의 후보들에게도 감사하다”고 고마움을 나타냈다.

수원시민들의 더불어민주당에 대한 관심도를 이끌어낼 수 있다는 점에도 큰 기대감을 갖고 있는 김상회 예비후보는 문재인 대통령을 보필해 ‘청와대 대통령비서실 자치발전비서관실 행정관’을 역임했으며 현재 대한민국특례시시장협의회 특별보좌관, 수원특례시발전연구소 소장을 맡고 있다고 했다.
