[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 4월 20일 김상회 수원시장 예비후보은 ‘장애인의날’을 맞아 수원지역 장애인단체 관계자들과 소통하며 “장애인이 행복한 수원시를 만들겠다”고 다짐했다고 밝혔다.

이날 김상회 예비후보는 호매실장애인복지관에서 수원시 장애인단체 관계자들을 만나 각 단체에서 요구되는 장애인 관련 정책을 건의 받고, 해결 방안에 대한 의견을 나눴다고 했다.

간담회에는 박동수 수원시장애인복지단체연합회 회장, 박혜경 한국장애인부모회 수원시지부장, 정호종 경기도농아인협회 수원시지회장, 유양재 경기도시각장애인연합회 수원시지회장, 이완모 한국교통장애인협회 수원시지회장 등이 참석했다고 했다.

장애인단체 관계자들은 코로나19 극복 후 중단됐던 ‘장애인의 날 행사’ 지원, 장애인단체 활동가들의 인건비 등 근무여건 개선 지원, 장애인 이동권 보장 확대, 청각장애인들을 위한 통역사 배치 확대, 장애인 주간보호시설 확충, 장애인복지관 추가 건립, 수원시장애인체육관 건립 등을 건의했다고 했다.

이에 대해 김상회 예비후보는 “장애인 이동권 보장 확대와 장애인복지관 추가 건립, 수원시장애인체육관 건립은 공약에 꼭 추가하겠다”며 “시장에 당선된 후에도 수시로 장애인단체와 소통하며 수원시를 장애인이 행복한 도시로 만들겠다”고 약속했다.

현재 김상회 예비후보는 장애인 복지 증진을 위한 주요 공약으로 장애인 주거안정 : 공공임대주택 확대, 장애인 문화예술 지원 확대, 양질의 장애인 일자리 확대 : 장애인 고용기업에 인센티브 확대 등을 준비하고 있다고 전했다.

김 예비후보는 “장애인 등 사회적 약자의 행복은 모든 시민이 행복한 도시를 위한 기본 전제”라며 “제 공약 중 장애인 주거 안정을 위해 수원도시공사에 전담부서를 신설해 다양한 지원책을 마련해 적극 시행하겠다”고 밝혔다.

특 김 예비후보는 “장애인 등 교통약자의 이동권 보장을 위해 장애인콜택시와 저상버스의 확대 운영은 물론 시내버스 완전공영제, 광역교통 연결망 확충 등을 반드시 이뤄내겠다”며 “분야별로 나눠져 있는 장애인 이동권 보장 관련 정책을 일원화해 수원시민 누구나 불편함이 없는 교통복지 도시를 만들겠다”고 강조했다.

한편, 김상회 수원시장 예비후보는 문재인 대통령을 보필해 ‘청와대 대통령비서실 자치발전비서관실 행정관’을 역임했으며 현재 대한민국특례시시장협의회 특별보좌관, 수원특례시발전연구소 소장을 맡고 있다. 안룡초등학교, 수원중학교, 수원공업고등학교 건축과, 서울신학대 신학과를 졸업했으며, 경기대 일반대학원 행정학 박사과정을 수료했다고 전했다.
