이번 포럼은 지역의 독서문화 생태계 구축을 위한 시민 담론 형성을 위한 첫 시작점으로, 원주시의 독서문화 생태계 현황 파악 및 도시별 독서문화 우수사례 공유를 통해 원주의 독서문화 발전 방안을 모색하고 의견을 교환하는 자리가 될 것이라고 했다.

기조발제로 2022 대한민국 독서대전 신현식 총감독이 ‘원주시 독서문화 구축 디자인 방향’을 제안하고, 괴산군 숲 속 작은책방 김병록 대표의 책방소개와 책문화네트워크사례, 강릉시 독립서점 깨북 안상현 대표의 시민프로그램 강릉책문화센터 강릉은 모두 작가다, 고양시 재미있는 느티나무 온가족 도서관 이승희 관장의 책이랑 놀고 이웃과 어울리며 재미있는 삶, 원주시 토지문화관 김세희 관장의 토지문화관 창작레지던시 과정의 성과와 의미 등 총 4개 시군(지역별, 유형별)의 우수사례를 소개하는 순으로 진행된다고 전했다.
