[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 6월 30일을 마지막으로 가평군은 상설 나눔 매장인 '모음과 나눔' 매장 운영을 중단한다고 밝혔다.

군은 지난 2009년부터 12년간 지속가능한 자원순환 사회 조성을 위하여 공익형 재활용 촉진 사업의 일환으로 '모음과 나눔 매장' 운영을 추진하여 왔으나, 온라인 중고물품 산업의 활성화(당근마켓), 사설 중고매장의 증가 등 재활용 촉진 사업의 민간부분 확대로 관 주도 사업 추진의 효과가 미비하다고 판단하여 부득이 운영을 중단하게 됐다고 전했다. 

그간 ‘모음과 나눔’ 매장은 의류·장난감·책 등 군민들의 기증과 기부로 운영해 왔으며, 지난 2009년부터 약 990여명의 회원들이 자원 재활용 문화를 확산시켜 자원순환 촉진에 크게 기여하기도 했다. 

가평군 관계자는 “매장 운영 종료로 인한 미사용 적립금은 오는 6월 30일까지 사용 가능하며, 6월 한 달간 한시적으로 나눔 장터를 운영할 계획으로 보다 많은 군민들이 관심을 가지고 참여해 주시길 바란다”고 말했다.
