[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시는 흥업면 대안리·흥업리, 호저면 만종리 지역의 정주여건 개선 및 인근 하천 수질오염을 방지하기 위해 5월부터 승안동·만종지구 하수관로 정비사업을 본격적으로 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 국비 102억 원을 포함 총사업비 156억 원의 예산을 투자해 2024년 12월까지 오수관로 18.1km를 매설하는 것으로, 해당 지역 350여 가구에서 발생하는 생활오수를 흥업면 사제리에 있는 흥업공공하수처리시설로 이송하게 된다고 했다.

원주시는 공사 시행에 앞서 인근 지역주민을 대상으로 사업 홍보와 함께 각종 안전시설을 설치해 안전사고를 예방하고 통행 불편을 최소화할 계획이라고 전했다.

원주시 관계자는 “이번 공사 추진으로 통행에 불편함이 있을 것으로 예상되지만, 지역주민들의 양해와 협조를 부탁드린다.”라며, “수질개선 및 생활환경개선을 위해 하수 처리구역을 확대해나가도록 하겠다.”라고 말했다.
