[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 3월 5일부터 오는 4월 17일까지 원주시는 봄철 대형산불 특별대책기간으로 설정하고 산불방지에 총력 대응한다고 밝혔다.

지난 2월 1일부터 봄철 산불조심기간을 운영하고 있던 시는 고온 건조한 날씨가 이어지는 3, 4월에 대형산불 발생위험이 커짐에 따라 특별대책기간을 정하고 각종 대책을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

특히 최근 발생한 울진·삼척, 강릉·동해, 영월 지역 대형산불 발생으로 경각심이 더욱 요구되고 있으며, 이에 시는 본청에 산불방지대책본부, 18개 읍면동에 산불상황실을 운영, 24시간 관련기관 비상연락망을 구축하고 진화대·감시원, 이·통장, 공무원 등을 산불위험지역에 집중 배치하는 등 비상근무체제를 유지한다고 했다.

산불진화대·감시원은 등산로 및 산림과 가까운 논·밭에 배치돼 소각행위를 계도·단속하며, 이·통장 및 사회단체는 마을 앰프 방송, 홍보물 배부 등으로 주민들에게 적극적으로 홍보한다고 했다.

또한, 3월 12일부터는 주말마다 본청, 사업소 직원 등을 마을담당 공무원으로 지정해 각 읍면동 산불취약지역에 배치할 예정이라고 전했다.
