[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시는 도시가스 경제성 미달지역인 포남동 유일연립 일원에 도시가스를 신규 공급한다고 밝혔다.

이번 공급은‘강릉시 단독주택 등 도시가스 보조금 지원조례’를 통해 선정되어, 세대당 수요가부담 시설 및 인입 배관 분담금의 70%를 보조받아, 도시가스를 사용하지 못하던 세대에 연료비 절감과 주거환경 개선 등 지역경제 활성화에도 많은 기여를 할 것으로 기대된다고 했다.

강릉시 도시가스 보급률은 지난해 말 기준으로 47%로 '18년 기준 34.4%보다 약 13% 증가했으나, 도시가스 공급관 100m 기준으로 48세대 미만 경제성 미달지역은 수요가부담 시설분담금이 상대적으로 높아 도시가스 공급받는 데 어려움을 겪고 있다고 했다.

강릉시 관계자는“올해 유일연립 외 추가로 총 사업비 10억 원을 투입해 포남동 백조아파트 일원 외 2개 지역 968세대에 지원하고, 에너지복지 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 올해 말 강릉시 도시가스 보급률을 52%까지 확대할 계획이다”라고 밝혔다.
