[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원도가 한우산업의 새로운 가치창출과 지속가능한 산업으로 발전시키기 위해 한우품질고급화사업 10개 분야에 34억원을 투입한다고 밝혔다.  

올해 강원도가 추진하는 한우산업 경쟁력 강화 주요사업에 대해 살펴보면, 강원한우 차별화․특성화를 위한 인공수정 및 종축등록사업, 우수정액지원 등 기초개량사업에 13억원, 고급육 출현율 향상과 우량 번식기반 육성을 위해 한우 암소유전체분석, 육성기 양질조사료 지원에 9억원, 저능력암소 도태사업, 우량암소육성, 암소검정사업, 친자확인, 수정란이식사업에 12억원을 투입할 계획이라고 했다. 

특히 주목할 점은 기존 씨수소 중심의 개량체계에서 벗어나 암소개량사업의 비중을 높여 강원도 한우 품질의 상향평준화를 도모할 계획이라고 했다. 

이를 위해 한우 암소유전체분석사업 530백만원을 신규로 반영해 암소능력평가의 정확도를 향상시킴과 동시에, 저능력 암소는 조기에 도태하여 우량번식기반 조성과 한우 수급조절 기능을 이행, 향후 소 값 하락에 대비해 강원도 한우 품질경쟁력을 한층 더 향상시켜 나아갈 계획이라고 전했다.  

강원도 농정국은 『한우 공급과잉으로 인한 가격하락의 위험이 산재해 있고 전문관측기관에서도 `22년 한우 가격하락을 전망하고 있어 이에 대한 대비가 필요한 상황이다. 이를 위해 신규 입식자제, 저능력암소 적극 도태 등 수급조절 참여와 사양관리 프로그램 준수 등 기본에 충실한 농장경영으로 향후 축산 환경변화에 능동적으로 대응 할 수 있도록 노력해야 한다.』고 말하며 축산농가의 역할과 적극적인 참여를 당부했다.
