옥천 마을건강센터는 주민과 더 가까운 작은 보건소로서 만성질환 예방과 건강생활 실천 향상을 위한 상담과 프로그램 운영 등 통합적인 건강관리를 지원한다고 했다.

지역 주민 누구나 무료로 이용 가능하며 혈압⋅혈당⋅콜레스테롤 측정, 체성분 측정, 스트레스 혈관건강검사와 맞춤형 건강 상담이 가능하다고 했다.

또한, 앞으로 신체활동 프로그램 및 운동용품 대여, 치매조기검진과 치매예방교실 등 다양한 프로그램을 개발 운영하여 주민의 건강관리 지원을 강화해 나갈 예정이라고 했다.

강릉시보건소 관계자는“소생활권 기반으로 수요자 중심의 맞춤형 건강관리를 제공하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
