[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 2월 1일부터 12월까지 원주시는 깨끗한 도시환경 조성 및 노인 일자리 창출을 위해 클린콜(뒷골목 청소) 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

사업공모를 통해 선정된 원주노인소비자생활협동조합 소속 60세 이상 노인 53명은 25개 읍면동 지역에 배치되어 환경미화원의 손길이 닿지 않는 골목길 등을 중점적으로 청소하게 된다.

근로자들은 주 5일(월~금) 오전 9시부터 오후 4시까지 하루 6시간씩 해당 구역을 순찰하면서 무단투기 폐기물을 수거하고 무단투기 금지 홍보 활동을 할 예정이다.

지난해에는 클린콜 사업으로 총 1,123t의 폐기물을 처리해 깨끗한 거리 만들기와 시민 불편 해소에 크게 이바지했다고 전했다.
