[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시는 시민들이 행복한 강릉을 만들기 위해 민선 7기 정부 공모사업으로 약 7,300억원을 확보했다고 밝혔다.

이는 정부가 지자체 예산지원 시 4대 복지사업(생계급여, 보육료 지원,아동수당, 기초연금)을 제외한 전 분야 지자체간 경쟁을 통해 교부하는 공모 방식으로 변화한 이래 강릉시 전 직원들이 공모사업 확보에 사활을 걸고 국비 확보에 최선을 다한 결과로 보여진다고 했다.

그동안 주된 공모사업으로는 도시브랜드 가치를 제고하기 위한 문화도시조성사업과 적정성 재검토가 마무리되어 올해부터 본격적으로 사업을 추진하는 관광거점도시 사업, ITS기반구축사업 등이 있으며, 시민편익을 위한 스마트시티챌린지사업, 도시재생사업, 경제 활력 증진을 위한 지식산업센터 건립 및 어촌뉴딜300사업 등이 있다고 했다. 

특히 생활SOC 공모사업 중 올해 초 착공예정인 성덕동 일원 통합가족센터 ‘품’과 옥천동(구 여성회관) 행정문화복합센터, 유천동 복합복지 체육센터는 시민들을 위한 복지·여가·문화시설로서 주민 문화예술 기회 및 삶의 질 개선 등 시민 행복을 증진 시킬 것으로 큰 기대를 모으고 있다고 했다.  

강릉시 관계자는 “앞으로도 그간의 성과에 안주하지 않고 사업별, 시기별 대응 전략을 치밀하게 분석하고 관련 부처를 수시 방문하는 등 정부 공모사업에 적극 대응하여 국비확보에 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
