[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 11월 29일부터 오는 12월 3일까지 5일간 강원도(국제도시훈련센터)는 아․태지역 개발도상국 등 5대주의 지속가능발전목표 13(기후행동)과 7(청정 에너지) 실행역량 지원을 위해「도시 탄력성과 환경 지속성」실시간 연수와 기후 위기 시대 탄소중립 이행 파트너십 구축을 위한「탄소 중립」심포지엄을 화상으로 병행 개최한다고 밝혔다. 

이번 연수 과정은 국제도시훈련센터와 유엔해비타트 본부가 연수생들을 대상으로 한 공동 연수 수요조사 결과와 현지 우선 과제를 바탕으로 선정하여 한국기후변화연구원과 공동으로 행사를 주관하게 됐다고 했다.

강원도와 유엔해비타트는 코로나 감염 세계 대유행의 사회․경제적 충격과 함께 급속한 산업화․도시화로 야기되고 있는 기후변화 적응 및 저감 등 도시 탄력과 환경 회복을 통한 삶의 질과 형평성 개선, 녹색 경제와 포용 성장을 공동 주제로 선정했고, 코로나 감염이 지속되어 국가간 이동과 대면 교육이 어려운 아태지역 개도국을 비롯하여, 유럽, 아프리카, 오세아니아, 남미 대륙 19개 국가의 기후 및 환경 분야 공무원 등 48명의 전문가를 선발하여 실시간 화상연수와 심포지엄을 실시하게 됐다고 했다.  

화상 연수의 주요 내용은 지속가능한 포용성장과 글로벌 정책, 기후변화와 도시 정책, 기후변화 적응 및 저감을 통한 도시 탄력성 등 실제 사례와 기술을 다루며, 유엔해비타트 기후변화 전문가들도 참가한다고 했다.

특히, 한국기후변화연구원과 공동 주관하는 국제심포지엄은 강원도 2040 탄소중립 이행방안과 GIS 활용 재난 예방 적용 상품 등 도내 기업 우수 사례를 공유하고, 국토교통부의 공공 주택 탄소 중립, COP26 공동선언과 정책 방향을 소개하여 강원도 국제화 역량을 국제사회에 알려 탄소 중립 국제파트너십 구축 계기로 활용하고자 한다고 했다. 

안권용 강원도 글로벌투자통상국장은 “강원도의 경험과 탄소중립 전략 공유, 도내 기업의 상품과 기술 소개 등을 통해 아․태지역은 물론 각 대륙의 국가와 시급한 글로벌 이슈에 대한 공감대 형성과 공동 대처, 나아가 親 강원인사 확대 등 해외 인적 네트워크를 확장하여 도내 기업체의 실질적 협력 프로그램 강화로 이어질 수 있도록 실속형 프로그램을 확대해 나가겠다”라고 강조했다.
