[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 11월 20일과 21일 2회에 걸쳐 재단법인 포천문화재단은 포천 반월아트홀 대극장에서 포천시립극단 제3회 정기공연 ‘면암 최익현 the Last Story’를 진행한다고 밝혔다.

포천시 역사인물이자 항일의병운동으로 일본에 맞선 조선의 마지막 선비 면암 최익현 선생의 일대기를 그린 창작뮤지컬인 ‘면암 최익현 the Last Story’는 최익현 선생의 친일파 처단 요구와 단발령 반대에 이어 항일의병운동, 대마도 강제유배 등 역사에 따른 순차적 진행을 웅장한 음악과 무대에 올린 작품이라고 했다. 

작품 중 명성황후 시해 사건과 궁중 내 친일파와의 대립, 일본에 대항해 각지에서 봉기하는 의병 등 당시의 역사적 기록도 작품에 녹여내었고, 특히 이번 공연은 작품의 질적 향상을 위해 드라마, 영화 OST 작‧편곡가로 활발한 활동을 하고 있는 유재경 음악감독이 참여하여 더욱 웅장하고 새롭게 연출되었으며, 바리톤 오유석, 소프라노 조은체 등이 출연하는 등 스케일이 더욱 커져 기대감을 나타내고 있다고 전했다.

포천시립극단 한대관 연출은 “우리 지역의 역사인물인 면암 최익현 선생님의 일대기를 그린 면암 최익현 the Last Story를 시민들께 선보여드릴 수 있어 기쁘다.”라며 “조선의 마지막 선비 면암 최익현 선생의 일대기에 많은 관심과 관람 부탁드린다.”라고 전했다. 

포천시립극단의 정기공연인 ‘면암 최익현 the Last story’는 누구나 관람이 가능하고, 400석 선착순으로 예약을 진행하고 있으며, 예약은 포천시립극단 사무국으로 문의하면 된다고 밝혔다.
