[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 6일 GH는 경기도 광주향교의 ‘중장기 종합정비 기본계획’ 수립을 위한 최종보고와 전문가 자문회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

광주향교는 하남교산 공공주택지구 내 위치한 경기도 문화재 제13호이며, GH는 지역 문화재 정비․보존과 활용방안 수립을 위해 지난 2월부터 관련 용역을 진행했다고 전했다.

이번 회의는 약 8개월간 수립된 계획안에 대해 전문가 자문의견을 수렴하는 자리로 문화재 전문가 5인과 경기도의회 김진일 의원 등이 참석했고, 회의를 통해 제시된 계획안은 향후 광주향교 중장기 발전 방향에 부합하는 세부 실행 자료로 활용될 예정이라고 전했다.  

김진일 도의원은“광주향교가 단순한 문화재에서 그치는 것이 아닌, 교산지구와의 공존을 통해 새로운 역사자원으로 가치를 지닐 수 있도록 아낌없이 지원할 것”이라고 말했다.

이병우 GH 도시개발본부장은 “본 용역을 통해 교산지구 사업계획과 연계하여 광주향교의 문화재 보존 가치와 활용도를 높일 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”라고 밝혔다.
