북부지방산림청은 지난 7월 1일부터 8월 31일까지 여름철 산림사법 특별대책기간을 지정 및 운영하고 있으며, 산림특별사법경찰과 산림보호지원단 등 총 7개조, 94명을 특별단속반으로 편성하여 불법행위 취약지역을 대상으로 집중단속하고 있다고 전했다.

중점 단속사항으로는 서울·인천‧경기·강원 영서 지역 내 산림보호구역과 산간 계곡 취약지역을 중심으로 산림 내 허가된 장소 외 야영·취사 행위, 쓰레기 및 오물 투기, 산림 내 불법시설물 설치, 무단점유 불법상업행위, 자연석·조경수·이끼류·특별산림보호종 등 임산물 불법 굴·채취 행위 등이라고 했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “코로나19의 확산으로 인해 안전하게 휴식을 취하고 싶은 휴양객들이 많아지고 있다.”라며, “이번 단속을 통해 아름다운 산림 내에서 코로나19로 인한 지친 몸과 마음을 달래고 쾌적하게 휴식을 취할 수 있도록 최선을 다해 산림을 보호하겠다.”라고 말했다.
