[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 9일 포천시 포천동 새마을부녀회는 포천동 행정복지센터에서 사랑의 고추장 담그기 봉사를 실천했다고 밝혔다.

새마을 부녀회원 10여 명이 참여한 이날 봉사활동은 방역수칙 준수하에 포천동 내 홀몸어르신, 한부모가정 등 주변에 소외되고 어려운 이웃을 위해 자발적으로 진행됐다고 했다.

이효순 회장은 “부녀회에서 좋은 재료로 직접 만든 고추장을 우리지역에 꼭 필요한 이웃에게 전달하게 되어 기쁘다. 앞으로도 지역 내 어려운 주민의 수요를 파악하여 지속적으로 봉사를 실시하겠다.”고 말했다.

배영관 포천동장은 “소외된 이웃을 찾아 봉사하는 새마을부녀회 회원들의 노고에 감사드리며, 이웃을 먼저 생각하는 따뜻한 포천동을 만드는 데 함께 힘써 달라.”고 말했다.
