이번 사업은 의정부시 도시농업과에서 추진한 그린플레이스 사업의 일환으로 백일홍 2천944본을 공급받아 송산2동 통장협의회 등 55명과 함께 진행했으며, 미세먼지 저감 및 도시미관에 활력을 더하여 주민들에게 쾌적한 마을환경을 제공하고자 추진했다고 말했다.

안윤배 송산2동장은 오늘 심은 꽃모종을 보며 “일상속에서 거리를 걷는 즐거움이 커지길 바라며, 백일홍 꽃향기가 코로나19로 지친 주민들의 심신을 위로하고 활력을 되찾아 줄 수 있길 바란다”라고 말했다.
