주요 정비내용으로는 관련법령 개정내용 반영, 사회적 여건변화 수용, 각종 인·허가 시 모호한 내용 및 불필요한 규제사항을 정비하고 그동안 지속적으로 제기되어진 민원사항에 대하여 개선방안을 마련하는 등 시민불편 해소에 중점을 두고 있고, 사유재산권 보장을 위해 장기미집행 도시계획시설 도로, 공원 등의 집행 가능성을 검토하여 존치시설과 해제·변경 시설로 분류하는 관리방안 내용도 포함되어 있다고 말했다.
 

의정부시 도시과장은 “앞으로도 불합리한 도시관리계획을 지속적으로 발굴·정비해 지역의 정주환경을 개선시키고 시민 중심의 도시관리계획이 수립될 수 있도록 노력해 나갈 계획”이라고 말했다.
