[김택곤 기자 = 영월군] 영월군 임업인단체연합회에서 주관하는“제3회 임업인의 날 행사”가 오는 11월 1일(화) 동․서강정원 연당원에서 개최된다.

“임업인의 날”은 매년 11월 1일로, 우리 주변의 숲을 가꾸는 임업인의 노고를 위로하고 임업과 산촌의 가치를 국민에게 알리자는 취지로 2020년 처음 지정되어 기념하고 있으며, 영월군은 올해 처음으로 기념행사를 개최한다.

이번 행사는 영월군 임업인 및 임업 관계자 등 약 350명이 참석할 예정이며, 영월군 임업인들이 직접 생산하는 다양한 임산물을 선보일 계획이다. 

행사를 주관하는 김준기 연합회장은 “이번 임업인의 날 행사 개최를 통해 영월군 임업인의 자긍심을 고취하고 임업인들의 정보 교류의 장을 마련하여 영월군 임업 발전에 크게 기여하는 기회가 되길 바란다”고 전했다.
