[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백고생대자연사박물관은 바다의 소중한 가치와 해양환경의 중요성을 알리기 위해 오는 8월 말까지 3층 기획전시실에서 ‘대한민국 해양사진대전 수상작’ 전시회를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

국립수산과학관의 협조로 개최되는 이번 전시회는 지금으로부터 5억 년 이전 바다로부터 시작된 생명 탄생 역사에서 현재에 이르는, 작게는 미생물부터 크게는 고래에 이르기까지 다양한 삶이 공존하는 해양환경의 중요성을 알리기 위해 추진된다.

전시회에는 생명 탄생의 요람인 바다의 소중한 가치와 해양환경의 중요성을 주제로 공모한 작품 중 수장작 50점이 전시되며, 관람객들에게 체험의 즐거움을 제공하기 위해 바다의 수호자 고래에게, 전하고 싶은 말을 적어볼 수 있는 글남기기 코너가 기획전시 공간 내에서 운영된다.

태백시 관계자는 “이번 전시회를 통해 바다를 삶의 터전으로 살아가는 우리네 삶을 엿보는 시간과 미래를 짊어질 후세들에게 물려주어야 할 바다의 모습은 무엇인지 생각해 보는 시간이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
