[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 5월 말까지 태백고생대자연사박물관은 한반도 자생동식물의 가치와 아름다움을 알리기 위한 “자생동식물 세밀화 우수작 전시회”를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 전시회는 ‘찾아가는 국립생물자원관 이동형 전시관’ 협업사업으로 자생동식물 다양성을 보존하기 위해 제작한 세밀화 우수작 38점이 3층 기획전시실에 전시되어 있다고 했다.

또한, 관람객들에게 체험의 즐거움을 제공하기 위해 6종의 생물을 무료로 직접 그려볼 수 있는 코너를 기획전시 공간 내에서 운영한다고 전했다.

태백시 관계자는 “이번 전시회를 통해 우리 주변의 자연환경에서 만날 수 있는 생물을 자세히 살펴보고 그 아름다움과 가치를 공유할 기회가 되길 바라며, 시민과 관광객분들의 많은 관람 부탁드린다”고 말했다.

한편, 세밀화는 생물학 연구의 산물로서 표본으로 확인할 수 없는 살아있을 때의 생생한 모습이나 한살이(새싹, 꽃, 열매 등), 사진으로는 정확하게 기록되지 않는 다양한 각도에서의 모습, 해부학적 미세 모양의 묘사까지도 가능하다고 했다.

또한, 생물학적 정확한 표현은 물론 작가의 예술적 감각이 회화적인 요소로 가미되어 생물의 아름다움을 한층 더 돋보이게 할 수 있는 예술작품으로 인정된다고 전했다.
