[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 4일, 동두천시는 시청 소회의실에서 동두천시 향토문화재(무형) 제4호로 지정된 단체 '탑동 상여·회다지 소리 보존회'에 인정서를 전달했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 전달식은 시지정 향토문화재(무형) 제4호로 인정됨을 축하하기 위한 자리로, '탑동 상여·회다지 소리 보존회' 김형구 회장 및 회원 30여명이 참석해 의미를 더했다고 전했다.

'탑동 상여·회다지 소리'는 탑동 주민 김수근, 김상우, 어두용이 익혀 오다가 지난 2001년 경기도민속예술제에 출전하기 위해 이종철, 이석기, 이은준이 '탑동 상여·회다지 소리 보존회'를 결성하였고, 이후 다섯 차례 경기도민속예술제에 동두천시 대표 종목으로 출전하면서 '탑동 상여·회다지 소리'의 보존과 전승을 위하여 많은 노력을 기울여오고 있다고 했다.

김형구 보존회장은 “동두천시 향토문화재(무형) 제4호로서 좀 더 발전된 활동과 동두천만의 특징을 가진 '탑동 상여·회다지 소리'로 키워 나가겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

정순욱 부시장은 “문화재로 지정됨을 축하한다”며 “'탑동 상여·회다지 소리 보존'가 우리 시를 대표하는 문화재로 더욱 발전하기를 바란다”고 전했다.
