[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원도는 2022년도 강원도 지역균형발전 시범사업 지원을 위해 추가경정예산 75억원을 추가 확보하여 시군을 통해 지원할 계획임을 밝혔다.

지역균형발전 시범사업 예산이 제1회 추경에 추가 편성됨에 따라 2022년 집행예정 사업비 113억원을 모두 확보하여 사업 추진에 탄력이 붙을 것으로 예상된다고 했다. 

지역균형발전 시범사업은 도내 지역 간 불균형 해소, 낙후지역 도민들의 정책 소외의식 확산, 저출산·고령화 등 인구감소에 따른 지역소멸 위기 극복을 위한 사업으로, 「강원도 지역균형발전 지원 조례」에 따라 설치한 특별회계 예산을 재원으로 2021년 ~ 2023년까지 3년간 추진된다고 했다.

제1단계 사업(2021년 ~ 2023년)으로 12개 시·군 32개 사업이 선정되었으며, 3년 간 도비 249억원을 포함해 총 536억원이 투자될 예정이라고 전했다.

지원분야는 지역산업 육성 8개, 일자리 창출 7개, 공간혁신 6개, 문화관광 4개, 인재육성 4개, 생활인프라 개선 3개 분야로 도내 지역 간 발전 격차를 해소하고, 도민이 삶의 질 향상을 체감 할 수 있는 다양한 사업이 추진된다고 했다. 

사업 2년차인 2022년에는 화천 오음마을 LPG 배관망 구축사업, 철원 한탄강 세계지질공원 스카이 전망대 조성 사업 등 6개 사업이 완료될 것으로 예상돼 시범사업 추진에 따른 가시적 성과가 나타날 것으로 보인다고 전했다. 

강원도 지역균형발전위원회 위원장인 최복수 행정부지사는 “강원도가 직면한 인구감소와 지역소멸 위험 및 지역불균형 문제는 도의 존립을 위협하는 가장 심각한 문제로 안정적이고, 지속적인 지원 정책을 적극적으로 추진해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
