[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 불기 2566년 ‘부처님 오신 날’을 봉축하는 군민 화합 장엄등이 양구군민공원에 설치된다고 밝혔다.

군민 화합 장엄등은 양구불교사암연합회 주관으로 4월 20일 저녁 6시30분 점등식을 갖고, 오는 5월 8일 부처님 오신 날까지 19일 동안 계속 붉을 밝히며, 폭 1.7m, 높이 4m의 장엄등은 경주 불국사의 석가탑과 동일한 모양으로 제작됐다고 했다.

임현용 관광문화과장은 “장엄등 점등이 부처님의 자비의 가르침을 전하고 따뜻한 마음으로 소외된 이웃을 돌아보는 계기가 됨으로써 군민 화합을 통한 지역발전에 기여할 수 있기를 바란다.”고 말했다.
