[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원도와 강원과학문화거점센터는 4월 과학의 달을 맞아 오는 19일에 춘천세종호텔 사파이어홀에서 「강원도 과학기술문화 활성화 포럼」을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

과학기술정보통신부, 강원도, 한국과학창의재단의 지원을 받아 운영되고 있는 강원과학문화거점센터는 2021년 과학기술정보통신부가 주관한「지역과학문화 활성화 지원」공모사업에 강원연구원이 응모, 선정되어 도내 과학문화 대중화와 지역 간 과학기술문화 수혜 격차 해소를 위한 사업을 추진하고 있다고 했다.

특히, 강원과학문화거점센터는 도내 과학문화 인프라와 강원도 첨단과학기술을 연계한 다양한 프로그램을 운영한 것이 높게 평가 되어 전년도 실적평가에서 전국 10개 지역 과학문화거점센터 중 ‘우수(전국 1위)’ 를 차지했다고 전했다.  

이번 포럼은“과학문화 활성화, 미래 융합 과학기술 그리고 강원도”를 주제로 도내 과학기술문화 저변확대 방안을 모색하고자 마련됐으며, 유관기관 및 전문가 간 긴밀한 소통·협력의 장으로, 도민들이 과학문화를 향유할 수 있는 방안을 다각적으로 모색한다고 전했다.

김석중 강원연구원 원장 직무대행의 개회선언 후 최문순 강원도지사의 환영사, 조율래 한국과학창의재단 이사장의 축사 이후 기조연설, 특별강연과 종합토론 순으로 진행된다고 했다.

기조연설은 “융합이란 무엇인가”를 주제로 최양희 한림대학교 총장(前 미래창조과학부 장관), 첫 번째 특별강연은“첨단과학기술과 의료 융복합을 통한 혁신”을 주제로 선경 고려대학교 교수(前 오송첨단의료산업진흥재단 이사장), 두 번째 특별강연은“미래 과학기술문화와 강원도”를 주제로 윤석진 한국과학기술연구원 원장(現 국가기술수준평가 위원회 위원장)이 강연할 예정이라고 했다.

종합토론은 좌장에 이종석 한림대학교 교수(前 국가과학기술자문회의 ICT 융합전문위원회 위원), 토론자는 선경 고려대학교 교수, 장시택 강릉과학산업진흥원 원장, 김광수 원주의료기기테크노밸리 원장, 유지욱 춘천바이오산업진흥원 원장, 장준연 KIST 강릉분원 천연물연구소장이 참석하여 각 기관의 과학문화 활성화 활동을 공유하고 강원도의 미래 융합 과학기술의 방향에 대해 심도있는 논의를 할 예정이라고 했다.

최문순 강원도지사는 “코로나19를 통해 과학기술의 중요성을 생활로 체감했다.”며 “위기를 기회로 삼아 미래 신기술에 과감한 투자로 미래 동력 창출에 힘쓰고 있으며, 도민들이 과학문화를 향유할 수 있는 강원도가 될 수 있도록 지속적으로 추진해나갈 예정이다.”고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 코로나19 상황에 따라 방역수칙을 준수하여 진행되며 강원과학문화거점센터 유튜브 채널을 통해 실시간 송출될 예정이라고 전했다.
