군의 지방채 조기 상환은 코로나19로 인한 어려운 여건 속에서도 세출구조조정 등을 통해 불요불급한 예산을 감축하는 등 재정건전성 향상을 위한 노력의 결과로 받아들여지며, 이로 인해 가평군은 재정의 건전성 향상과 재정운영 효율성에 활기를 띠게 됐고, 또한 민선 7기를 마무리 하는 시점에서 지방채를 조기상환함으로써 새로 시작할 민선 8기 군정 운영의 부담을 크게 덜어줄 것으로 기대한다고 했다.
