[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 3월 22일 15시 강원도는 코로나19 방역기준 완화 및 양양공항 국제선 재개 등과 연계하여 공항 입․출국 관리체계 정비, 이용객 편의서비스 개선 등을 위한 양양국제공항 활성화 전담팀 회의를 양양국제공항 회의실에서 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 회의는 김명중 강원도 경제부지사가 직접 주재하여 CIQ기관, 관련 시군 등과 함께 공항 활성화를 위한 주요 과제별 추진상황을 점검하고 향후 추진방안을 논의할 예정이라고 했다.

코로나19의 영향으로 해외여행 수요가 국내로 집중되면서 양양공항 국내선 이용객*이 증가하고 있으며, 강원도 모기지 항공사인 플라이강원에서도 올해 5월 필리핀을 시작으로 7월에는 대만 등 국제선 취항을 준비 중에 있어 이와 연계한 공항 활성화 대책이 요구되고 있다고 했다.

또한 공항 이용객 수요 확보를 위한 관광상품 개발 및 홍보마케팅을 강화하고, 현재 도에서 운영하고 있는 모객인센티브 제도 활성화 및 국제선 취항에 따른 취항지역 현지 항공·관광 설명회를 한국관광공사, 강원도관광재단 등 관계기관들과 협조하여 무엇보다도 지역경제에 보탬이 될 수 있도록 추진할 방침이라고 했다.
