[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 1월 14일 강원도는 2022년「지자체-대학 협력기반 강원지역 혁신사업」의 성공추진을 위하여 ‘사업추진위원회’를 구성하고, 강원대학교에서 첫 회의를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

「지자체-대학 협력기반 지역혁신사업(RIS)」은 지방소멸 위기 극복을 위하여 지자체와 지역대학이 협업체계를 구축하고 ‘인재양성-취‧창업-지역에 머무름’의 선순환 구조 구축을 지원하는 교육부 공모사업라고 했다.

강원도는 2020년도 경험을 바탕으로 대학과의 협력체계 구축, 인력충원, 전담부서 변경 등 새롭게 정비 후 2022년 공모사업을 위해, 강원도와 총괄대학인 강원대학교가 중심이 되어 준비에 박차를 가하고 있으며, ‘강원지역혁신 플랫폼(G-PRIDE)’선정을 위한 참여기관 간 의견교환 및 의견수렴 등을 위하여 강원도, 도내 참여대학, 강원테크노파크로 구성된 사업추진위원회(공동위원장 : 김명중 강원도 경제부지사, 최황규 강원대학교 산학연구부총장)를 구성했다.

이번 사업추진위원회에서는 참여대학 별 핵심분야와 세부분야 등을 논의하고, 핵심분야 별 중심대학 선정에 관하여 토론할 계획이라고 전했다.

강원지역혁신 플랫폼이 2022년 공모사업에 선정되면 2022년부터 매년 국비 300억, 지방비 128억 등 5년간 총 2천억 원 이상의 예산이 투입될 예정이며, 이를 통해 지자체-지역대학-지역혁신기관이 함께 우수인재를 양성하고, 관련분야의 창업, 기업 유치, 청년층 유입 등으로 강원도의 경쟁력 확보에 크게 기여할 것으로 예상하고 있다고 했다.

강원도는 본 사업의 취지가 지방소멸 위기 극복과 균형발전인 만큼 지방소멸이 가장 심각한 우리도에 반드시 필요한 사업이며, 이번 국비 증액을 위하여 강원도에서도 적극 노력한 만큼 2022년도에 반드시 선정되어야 한다는 각오로 준비하고 있다고 전했다. 

김명중 강원도 경제부지사는 ‘내년도 공모사업에 선정될 수 있도록 강원도-대학-지역혁신기관들 뿐만 아니라 전도민이 힘을 모아 준비할 계획’이라고 밝혔다.
