양주시지역사회보장협의체 아동청소년분과에서는 지난 2015년 제1회 감동양주 실현을 위한 관내 아동청소년 정책제안 아이디어공모전 사업을 올해까지 7년째 운영중에 있으며, 아이디어공모전에 접수된 양주관내 아동청소년의 민관협력을 위한 아이디어 중 당해 년도에 선정된 아이디어를 분과 위원들이 직접 실현 하고자 지속적으로 노력해 왔다고 했다. 

지난 2020년 제6회 아이디어 공모전에서는 총 9개에 아이디어가 선정됐으며, 그 중 ‘분리수거 자판기를 설치해주세요’에 대한 직접실현을 위해 해당 학생과 분과 위원들의 논의 끝에 ‘2022년 양주시 주민참여예산’ 공모 TF를 거치고 제안서를 신청접수 했으며, 마침내 그 결실을 맺었다고 했다.

‘분리수거 자판기를 설치해주세요’ 아이디어는 분리수거 자판기를 통해 일반 재활용품을 넣으면 현금화 되는 포인트로 전환해주는 자원 순환 개념사업으로, 초등학교 4학년 두 학생이 직접 지역 환경문제를 인식하고 조사하여 개선 방법을 함께 고민하고 제안했으며, 거주 지역에 대한 애정스런 마음이 고스란히 담겨있다고 전했다.
