춘천시정부는 최근 바이오 융복합 산업화 지원센터 신축공사 시공사 선정을 완료했다고 밝혔다.

이르면 내년 1월 착공해 2023년 12월 준공할 예정이며, 바이오 융복합 산업화 지원센터는 환경부 한강유역환경청에서 주관한 2020년 친환경 청정사업에 선정, 한강수계기금 186억 원을 포함 총 311억 원을 투입해 후평동 623-60번지에 들어설 예정이라고 했다.

이곳은 바이오 산업 기술 역량을 강화하고 집중적으로 육성할 전진기지가 될 전망이고, 연면적 1만1,275㎡며, 지하 1층, 지상 6층 규모로 바이오기업 임대 전용 입주공간으로 활용할 방침이라고 했다.

시정부 관계자는 “바이오산업은 시정부의 전략산업으로 지속적인 지원사업을 통해 육성해 나갈 것” 이라며 “체외진단산업화 플랫폼 구축과 바이오 융복합 산업화 지원센터 구축으로 춘천의 바이오 산업 성장을 통한 지역경제 성장과 지역 인재 고용 창출의 거점이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
