[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 11월 26일에 환경부 원주지방환경청은 유해화학물질 취급사업장으로 구성된 ˹대·중소기업 화학안전공동체˼* 운영 활성화를 위한 합동 워크숍을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

*  지역내 발생하는 화학사고 예방 및 대응을 위해 안전관리 역량이 우수한 대기업과 상대적으로 취약한 중소기업 간 협력체계를 구축․운영하고 있는 제도(8개 공동체) 

워크숍에는 강원·충북권 ˹대·중소기업 화학안전공동체˼ 참여기업 62개사 및 영동지역 화학사고 대응을 위해 조직된 ˹영동지역화학사고 대응협의체˼ 13개사 포함, 총 70여명이 영상으로 참여한다고 했다.

이번 워크숍에는 최근 화학물질관리법 관련 개정사항 및 화학사고예방관리계획서 제도 전문가 교육, 취급시설 안전관리, 공동체 운영방안 등에 대해 논의하고, 애로 및 건의사항을 수렴할 계획이라고 했다.

원주지방환경청에서 운영하는 ˹대․중소기업 화학안전공동체˼ 및 ˹영동지역 화학사고 대응협의체˼는 매년 실시하는 화학사고 대응 합동훈련, 정보교류회 및 간담회 참여 등을 통해 지역내 화학사고 예방 및 대응 역량 향상에 기여하고 있다고 전했다.

이창흠 원주지방환경청장은 “화학사고 발생시 신속한 초기 대응으로 피해를 최소화 하는것이 중요하며, 이번 워크숍을 통해 화학안전공동체 참여기업의 화학사고 예방 및 초기 대응 능력을 향상시키고, 앞으로도 지속적인 정보교류, 교육, 훈련참여를 통해 안전의식을 고취해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.
