[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주지방환경청은 밸프스 안전캠페인에 이어서 오는 8월 25일부터 10월 29일까지 강원·충북 지역의 유해화학물질 취급사업장 33개소를 대상으로 화학사고 예방 및 대응을 위한 유해화학물질 분야 국가안전대진단을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이번 국가안전대진단은 유해화학물질 다량 취급사업장, 사고이력 사업장 등의 중점관리사업장을 포함하여 사고대비물질을 취급하여 화학사고 시 영향이 클 것으로 우려되는 사업장을 대상으로 진행한다고 전했다.

또한 원주지방환경청 화학물질관리과 및 충주화학재난합동방재센터 환경팀과 함께 화학안전분야 민간전문가로 한국환경공단을 포함한 2개조로 점검반을 구성하여 합동 지도·점검을 추진할 계획이라고 했다.

주요 점검사항으로는 유해화학물질 취급시설의 관리기준 준수여부, 저장·보관시설 및 긴급 세척시설 등 취급시설 상태 및 누출감지기 작동여부 등을 확인하며, 점검 결과 시설의 안전상태가 미흡할 시 현장조치, 보수·보강 실시 등의 시설개선 조치를 취할 예정이라고 했다.

이창흠 원주지방환경청장은 “전문가와 합동으로 추진하는 이번 국가안전대진단을 통해 관내 유해화학물질 취급사업장의 적정관리를 유도하여 화학사고를 예방하기 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
