환경관리과 직원들과 민간 환경단체 '(사)자연환경 국민운동중앙경기도본부' 소속 회원 15명이 참여해 지구온난화를 유발하는 이산화탄소의 발생량을 줄일 수 있는‘슬기로운 탄소중립 생활’실천 수칙을 만들어 지역 주민들에게 홍보했고, 아울러, 현장에서 실천 수칙이 새겨진 미세먼지 마스크 약 1천 매를 배부하였으며, 잔여 마스크 1만7천 매는 본청, 주민센터 등의 내방객들을 대상으로 배부하여 이번 달까지 집중 홍보할 예정이라고 했다.

의정부시 환경관리과장은 “일상생활에서 탄소중립을 실천할 수 있는 생활수칙을 널리 알리는 시간을 가졌다”며, “최근, (가칭)탄소중립기본법이 제정된 것을 계기로 지역 중심의 기후위기 정책이 중요해진 만큼, 시민들의 적극적인 탄소중립 생활을 당부드린다”고 밝혔다.
