[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 9월 6일 의정부시 흥선동은 국제로타리3690지구 의정부로타리클럽에서 관내 저소득 한부모가족의 열악한 주거환경 개선 자원봉사를 실시하고 냉장고, 침대 등을 지원하였다고 밝혔다.

이번 자원봉사활동은 복지사각지대로 발굴된 저소득 한부모가족의 노후화된 싱크대와 조명을 교체하고 고장난 냉장고와 침대를 지원하여 건강악화와 생활고로 어려움에 처한 위기가구의 주거환경에 보탬이 될 수 있도록 봉사활동을 펼쳤고, 의정부로타리클럽은 이외에도 소외계층을 위한 생필품세트 보급, 도배‧장판 교체 등 지역사회의 어려운 이웃을 위해 꾸준한 사랑나눔을 실천하고 있다.

박돈신 의정부로타리클럽 회장은 “코로나19로 많은 봉사활동이 위축되었지만 철저한 방역수칙과 다양한 형태의 이웃사랑 실천을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다. 

유준영 흥선동 복지지원과장은 “어려운 이웃을 위해 도움을 주신 의정부로타리클럽에 감사드리고 앞으로도 민관 협력 복지사각지대 발굴‧지원에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
