[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 7월부터 8월까지 2개월간 의정부시 흥선동은 복지사각지대 발굴 및 지원을 위해 폭염 취약지역 21곳 '폐가, 비닐하우스, 컨테이너, 고시원 등'에 대해 복지상담 및 홍보를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

흥선동 보건복지팀은 코로나19 사회적 거리두기 4단계 격상 기간이 지속됨에 따라 유선 상담 및 우편 발송 등의 비대면 조사 방법을 병행하고 있으며, 흥선동 지역사회보장협의체를 비롯한 주민제보를 카카오톡 또는 유선으로 상시 접수하고 있다고 했다. 

또한 폭염 취약계층을 지원하기 위해 생필품세트 200개, 쌀 10kg 115포, 화장지 20개, 라면 20박스, 냉방기 20대, 옥수수 160개, 삼계탕 등을 후원받아 취약계층 161가구에게 후원물품 198개(환가액 5,888천 원)의 민간자원을 연계하고 종합복지상담을 통해 공공서비스 83건(기초‧생계‧의료‧주거, 기초연금, 차상위 등)을 신청했다고 했다. 

유준영 흥선동 복지지원과장은 “코로나19 장기화로 인해 어려움을   겪는 가구가 증가하는 이때, 복지서비스에서 소외받는 사람이 없도록 복지사각지대 발굴‧지원에 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
