[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 9월 1일 의정부시는 고산 3단지 내 공립고산꿈터어린이집을 신규 개원했다고 밝혔다. 

고산꿈터어린이집은 보육실과 유희실, 교사실 등을 갖춘 74명 정원의 어린이집으로서 지난 8월 리모델링까지 끝마쳐 안전하고, 쾌적한 환경에서 아이들을 돌보게 될 것이고, 또한, 현재 코로나19 확산으로 모든 어린이집은 긴급보육만 시행되고 있는 실정으로, 공립고산꿈터어린이집 역시 이러한 상황을 고려하여 개원식과 오리엔테이션 등 별도 행사는 생략되었으나 보다 철저한 방역 및 소독으로 신입 유아들을 맞을 준비를 마쳤다고 했다.

의정부시는 하반기에도 송산생활권1구역 GS자이의 국공립어린이집 확충을 계획하는 등 공보육에 힘쓰고 있으며, 영유아 부모들의 선호도가 높은 국공립어린이집 이용의 문턱이 낮아지고 있어 지역 내 공공보육인프라 확충으로 보다 많은 시민에게 양질의 보육서비스를 제공하게 될 것이라고 했다. 

정효경 보육과장은 "아이들의 꿈을 이루는 터전이 되겠다는 고산꿈터 어린이집의 이름처럼, 아이들의 건강한 성장을 돕는 든든한 공립어린이집이 되도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다.”라며 “지속적으로 공립어린이집을 확충하여 부모님이 믿고 맡길 수 있는 공보육 기반을 마련하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

의정부시는 지난 2021년 8월 말 기준 총 370개 어린이집이 운영되고 있으며, 이중 국공립 어린이집은 34개소가 되었다고 했다.
