특히 이번 특별단속 기간에는 개정되는 도로교통법(2021. 10. 21.) 내용에 발맞춰 어린이보호구역 주변에 불법주기된 건설기계에 대해서 집중단속을 실시하여, 부모가 안심하고 아이들이 안전하게 등·하교할 수 있는 환경을 만들겠다고 했다. 

의정부시 자동차관리과장은 “최근 덤프트럭과 타워크레인 관련 사고가 많이 발생함에 따라서 건설기계 불법주기 단속 요청민원 또한 덩달아 늘고 있는 추세로, 이번 특별단속을 통해 시민의 불편함이 없는 편안한 주거환경과 안전한 교통환경 조성을 위해 노력하겠다.”라고 말했다.
