[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시는 지난 1일부터 9월 30일까지 1개월간 주택가 주변의 도로·공터 등에 불법 주기된 덤프트럭, 굴삭기 등의 건설기계를 대상으로 상반기 특별 야간단속을 실시해 기존 주 1회 단속에서 주 2회로 확대 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이번 특별단속 기간에는 주택가 주변의 도로·공터 등에 건설기계를 세워 두어 원활한 교통의 흐름을 방해하거나 소음 등으로 시민의 조용하고 평온한 생활환경을 침해하는 경우 및 화재 등 긴급 사고 발생 시 소방차의 신속한 진입을 방해하는 이면도로 위 불법주기 등을 포함해 단속할 예정이다.

불법주기 누적 적발 횟수에 따라 5만 원에서 최고 30만 원의 과태료가 부과되며, 지속적인 단속을 통해 불법행위에 대한 경각심을 고취시키고 올바른 주기문화를 독려해 쾌적하고 안전한 교통환경 조성에 힘쓸 예정이다.

의정부시 관계자는 “이번 특별단속은 주민불편 해소와 함께 안전한 도로 환경 확보가 목적이며, 앞으로도 지속적인 홍보와 단속을 병행해 불법주기 위반행위 근절을 위해 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
