[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 7월 10일 오전 10시부터 의정부시는 폭염주의보가 지속 발효됨에 따라 폭염으로 인한 안전사고를 예방하고 생활 불편을 최소화하기 위해 폭염 대응체계를 강화하여 상황관리를 철저히 추진하고 있다고 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 어르신들이 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 폭염 대비 건강관리 수칙과 폭염 시 행동수칙 등을 설명하고 안전하고 시원하게 휴식을 취할 수 있도록 얼음물 및 부채 등을 무더위 지친 시민들에게 제공하고, 에어커튼 가동 상태를 점검하는 등 무더위 쉼터의 시설을 살펴봤다고 했다.

지난 7월 27일 유회섭 의정부시 안전총괄과장은 연일 지속되는 폭염에 따른 예방에 만전을 기하고자 폭염 재난도우미로 활동하고 있는 지역자율 방재단을 격려하고, 새로이 지정한 무더위쉼터 점검을 위하여 하늘빛 어린이 공원 내 야외정자를 방문했다고 말했다.

또한, 의정부시는 올여름 폭염을 대비해 보행신호 대기 시 잠시나마 햇볕을 피할 수 있도록 폭염 그늘막 138개소를 설치했고, 추가로 13개소를 설치할 예정이며, 폭염에 취약한 노약자 및 취약계층에 얼음물 제공 및 쿨바디필로우 2천317개를 7월 중 제공할 계획이라고 했다.
