[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시 장암동주민센터는 최근 35도를 넘나드는 무더위가 지속되자 독거어르신 및 장애인 등 취약계층의 안전 확인과 보호 강화를 위해 7월 넷째주부터 8월 둘째주까지 4주간을 취약계층 집중 돌봄기간으로 정하고 가정방문과 전화를 통한 안부 모니터링을 추진하고 있다고 밝혔다.

우선 폭염에 취약한 독거어르신 및 질병 및 장애로 거동이 불편한 1인가구에 일일이 전화를 걸어 건강상태를 확인하고 혹서기 유의해야할 사항을 안내하고 있으며, 연락이 닿지 않는 경우 주변 이웃과 통장 등 인적 네트워크를 통한 점검과 공무원의 가정방문을 통해 생활여건을 확인하고 있고, 또한, 장암동주민자치위원회의 후원으로 폭염으로 특히 어려움을 겪을 것으로 예상되는 취약가구를 선별하여 선풍기, 영양제, 밀키트 등 가구별 필요한 물품으로 건강꾸러미를 꾸려 배부할 예정이어서 더위를 이기고 건강을 지키는 데 도움이 될 것으로 보인다고 했다.

한편, 장암동 지역사회보장협의체에서는 위기가구 지원과 나눔문화 확산을 위해 ‘장암동 이웃사랑 CMS’사업을 진행하고 있고, ‘장암동 이웃사랑 CMS’사업은 사회복지공동모금회를 통한 정기후원 사업으로, 조성된 후원금은 장암동의 어려운 이웃을 위해 사용되며, 참여를 원하는 시민은 누구나 주민센터를 방문하여 간단한 신청서 작성만으로 참여할 수 있다고 했다.
