[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 의정부시는 조달청에서 실시한 ‘2021년 제1차 혁신제품 시범구매사업’에 ‘슬러지 건조설비 설치사업’을 공모하여 최종 선정됨에 따라 혁신제품을 무상으로 제공받게 되었다고 밝혔다. 

혁신제품 시범구매사업은 우수한 기술을 보유하였으나 상용화에 어려움을 겪고 있는 중소기업 제품의 초기 판로 개척을 통해 상용화 촉진 및 기업의 성장을 지원하기 위한 제도로서, 공공기관이 공공서비스 개선을 위해 필요한 사업 및 제품을 조달청에 신청하고, 혁신제품 시범사용기관으로 선정된 공공기관이 해당 혁신제품을 시범사용 후 조달청으로부터 관리전환 또는 소유권을 이전받아 계속 사용하게 된다고 했다.

시는 이번 공모사업에 선정됨에 따라 조달청으로부터 약 6억 5천만 원의 슬러지 건조설비를 지원받게 되는데, 해당 제품은 의정부공공하수처리시설에서 기존 기계식·전기 탈수 공정을 거쳐 발생하는 슬러지를 건조 과정을 통해 함수율을 저감시키는 설비이며, 이로 인해 슬러지 발생량이 일일 3.8톤이 감소하게 되고, 연간 약 2억 800만 원의 처리비용이 절감된다고 말했다.

윤무현 맑은물사업소장은 “정부 공모사업 선정에 따라 막대한 시 예산을 절감했을 뿐만 아니라 우수한 기술을 보유했지만 판로 개척에 어려움을 겪는 중소기업의 성장에 기여할 수 있어 보람을 느낀다”고 말했다.
