[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 2021년 중고테니스 시즌을 알리는 제56회 전국주니어테니스선수권대회에서 의정부시체육회소속 양우정, 강예빈선수가 우승하므로 의정부시가 명실공히 테니스의 메카임을 증명했다고 전했다.

지난 5월12일 전북 순창군 순창공설테니스장에서 열린 대회 마지막날 여자부14세부 챔피언십 결승에서 의정부G-스포츠클럽 양우정, 강예빈이  한가연, 유채민상대로 세트 스코어 2-0으로 물리치고 복식 우승을 달성했다고 했다.

양우정과 강예빈은 경기에서 파워를 앞세운 강력한 스트로크와 디펜스로 첫 세트를 6-0으로 이기고 기선을 제압했고, 이후 경기를 지배한 양우정과 강예빈은 두 번째 세트를 6-2으로 마무리했다고 말했다.  

우승을 차지한 양우정, 강예빈은 “전국대회에서 처음으로 복식 우승을 차지해 매우 기쁘고, 늘 노력하고 최선을 다하는 선수로 남고 싶다”고 우승 소감을 밝혔다.

순창 '제56회 전국주니어테니스선수권대회'는 남녀 14세, 16세, 18세부로 나뉘어  본선에 진출해 토너먼트로 각부 최강자를 가려내는 방식으로 동계훈련의 성과와 전력을 가늠해 볼 수 있는 대회로 해를 거듭할수록 선수들과 관계자로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있다고 했다.
