[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 4월 19일부터 의정부시는 친환경 유용미생물 EM활성액을 의정부시지속가능발전협의회를 통해 1인당 4리터씩 무료로 배포하고 있다고 밝혔다.

의정부시는 시민들의 친환경 생활에 도움이 될 수 있도록 매년 EM활성액을 만들어 보급하고 있으며, 찾아가는 EM교육 및 기후⋅환경교육을 통하여 일상생활에서 EM사용의 활성화에 앞장서고 있다고 했다.

유용한 미생물인 EM은 악취제거, 수질정화, 금속과 식품의 산화방지 및 남은 음식물 발효 등 용도가 다양하다고 했다. 

EM 수령을 원하는 시민들은 담아갈 병을 준비해 의정부시지속가능발전협의회 옥외 주차장에 설치된 EM저장고를 방문하여 받을 수 있으며, 기타 자세한 사항은 의정부시지속가능발전협의회 사무국으로 문의하면 된다고 했다.
