부천시가 주최한 이번 대회는 브레이킹이 2024년 파리올림픽 정식 종목으로 채택된 후 국내에서 열리는 첫 경연이며, 코로나19 확산 예방을 위해 국내 최정상 8개 팀을 초청하여 온라인 생중계로 진행되었다고 했다. 

의정부시 대표 비보이단은 ‘2대2 부문’ 8강에서 플로우엑셀크루를 3대2로 이긴 뒤, 준결승전 브레이크엠비션과 대결에서 5대0 심사위원 만장일치로 승리했고, 결승전에서는 지난해까지 서울시 대표 비보이단으로 활동한 갬블러크루와 치열한 접전 끝에 승리하여 최종 우승을 거머쥐었다고 했다.

황정우 의정부브레이킹협회장은 “각 지역을 대표하는 막강한 팀들을 제압하고 거머쥔 우승이라 더욱 기쁘다”며, “앞으로도 의정부시에서 올림픽 국가대표가 나올 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
