[김현우 기자 = 가평] 가평군은 급격한 고령화로 노인인구가 빠르게 늘어나는 수요에 맞춰 오는 2026년 준공을 목표로 노인복지회관 건립사업을 추진한다고 8일 밝혔다.

 

가평군은 전체인구의 28.8%가 65세이상 노인인구이며, 금년 4월말 기준 가평군 인구는 6만3005명으로 이중 노인인구는 1만8160명으로 나타났다.

 

이에, 가평군은 노인숙원사업이자 맞춤형 인구정책으로 복지서비스 제공을 통한 노후생활안정 도모를 위해 가평읍 읍내리 일원, 연면적 2,300㎡의 지하 1층 지상 4층 규모로 노인복지회관을 건립할 계획이다.

 

사업기간은 올해 지방재정투자심사 및 실시설계용역 등 행정절차를 거쳐 내년 하반기 착공해 2026년 완공할 예정이다.

 

가평군은 앞서 지난해부터 민선8기 공약사업으로 노인회관 건립계획을 수립하고 부지선정 및 매입, 중기지방재정계획 반영 등을 진행해 왔다.

 

사업비는 특별조정교부금 및 지방소멸대응기금 확보 등 국․도․군비 등 총 121억여 원이 소요될 것으로 보인다.

 

노인복지회관 내에는 기계실을 비롯해 경로식당, 체력단련실, 휴게실, 다목적실, 소회의실, 프로그램실, 정보화교육실, 관장실, 사무실, 노인대학장실, 취업센터, 회의실 등이 마련된다.

 

가평군은 사업추진에 있어 교육․여가활동․노인일자리 등 서비스 이용시 수혜자의 중복을 방지하고 보다 많은 노인들에게 다양한 프로그램을 제공하고자 노인회, 취업센터, 복지관 등 각각의 기관에서 운영하고 관리되는 사업들을 통합 관리한다는 방침이다.

가평군 관계자는 “노인인구의 빠른 증가로 수혜도는 매년 급격하게 증가하고 있는 만큼 노인회 및 노인복지관 사무실 통합 배치 등 복합용도시설 건립으로 다양한 노인복지 수요에 맞는 서비스 제공과 복지체감도 향상, 유관기관 간 소통의 기회 및 화합의 장을 제공하겠다”며 “또한 노인들의 사회참여활동 기회 증가를 통해 개인적 성취감은 물론 지역사회 발전을 이뤄 나가겠다”고 말했다.

 

한편, 가평군은 올해 노인에 대한 소득지원 및 적절한 돌봄서비스 제공 등노후생활안정 도모를 위해 1만여 명에게 기초연금 지원을 비롯해 1,800여명에게 저소득재가노인 식사배달사업, 기초생활보장 노인가구 월동난방비․저소득 노인가구 건강보험료․재활용품수집 노인안전 지원 등을 펼칠 예정이다.

 

또 홀로사는 노인 응급안전 안심서비스 및 처우개선비, 어르신 스마트 돌봄사업 추진, 노인상담센터 운영 등 노인돌봄서비스 강화 및 취약계층 사회안전망 구축을 통해 행복한 노후생활을 돕기로 했다.
