[김준호 기자 = 영월군] 영월군은 장애인을 위한 '찾아가Go, 고치GO, 세차하GO' 보조기기 수리 지원을 추진과 관내 장애인의 편의 증진을 위하여 본 사업을 지속 확대 추진한다고 밝혔다.

본 사업은 전동휠체어, 스쿠터 등 장애인 일상생활의 필수품인 보조기기의 안전사고 발생 예방을 위하여 점검·수리·소독 등을 지원하는 사업으로, 지난해 저소득층에서 등록 장애인으로 대상자를 확대하고 읍·면별 무료 출장 서비스를 추진하여 보행이 불편한 장애인의 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 

이에 사업을 확대해 오는 20일부터 복지 시설을 포함한 공공기관을 대상으로 시설 이용상 편의를 위해 비치된 휠체어 등에 대한 점검 서비스를 추가 진행할 계획이다.

소모품 교체 등 수리를 희망하는 경우 상시 이용 가능하며, 신청은 영월군장애인협회 장애인보조기기수리센터 또는 읍·면 행정복지센터 맞춤형복지팀에 문의하면 된다.

김병훈 주민복지과장은“장애인의 이동 편의와 사회 활동 증진을 위하여 장애인 보조기기 지원 및 관리에 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
