[장선희기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시청 사이클팀이 지난 15일부터 19일까지 열린 '제24회 국민체육진흥공단 이사장배 전국사이클대회'에서 대회신기록으로 메달을 따내며 우수한 성적을 거뒀다고 전했다.

의정부시청팀은 남자일반부 단체추발 4km 결승 경기(박상훈, 장훈, 최태호, 이호삼)에서 4분9초432로 대회신기록을 세우며 간발의 차이로 2위로 골인했다. 

지난 2018년 자카르타-팔렘방 아시안게임 금메달리스트인 의정부팀의 박상훈 선수가 독주(1km) 경기에서 1분1초678로 대회신기록을 세우며 1위로 골인했고, 개인추발(4km) 결승에서 4분23초209로 다시한번 대회신기록을 갱신하며 2관왕에 올랐다고 전했다. 

대회 마지막날 장훈선수가 스크래치(10km) 결승에서 동메달을 따내며 의정부시청팀은 금 2개, 은1개, 동1개의 우수한 성적으로 경기를 마무리했다. 

박상훈선수는 국내 중장거리 최정상급 실력을 선보이며 남자일반부 최우수선수의 영광을 차지했다. 

안병용 의정부시장은 “의정부시청 사이클팀 선수들이 흘린땀과 노력이 우수한 성적으로 결실을 맺은 것 같다.”라며 “2022년 남은 경기에서도 의정부시 선수들의 눈부신 활약을 기대한다.”고 말했다.

Uijeongbu City Hall Cycling Team Wins "Medal" with New Competition Record

New record set, 2 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze

[Reporter Seon-hee Jang = Northern Gyeonggi/Gangwon] Uijeongbu City Hall Cycling Team reported that they had achieved excellent results by winning a medal with a new record at the '24th National Sports Promotion Corporation Chairman's Cup National Cycling Competition' held from the 15th to the 19th.

The Uijeongbu City Hall team set a new tournament record at 4:09.432 in the men's general team pursuit 4km final (Sang-Hoon Park, Hoon Jang, Tae-Ho Choi, Ho-Sam Lee) and finished second by a short gap.

In the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games gold medalist Park Sang-hoon of the Uijeongbu team, set a new competition record at 1:01.678 in the solo (1km) race and finished first in the individual pursuit (4km) final at 4:23 seconds. With 209, he once again broke the record for the tournament and won two gold medals.

On the last day of the competition, Jang Hoon won the bronze medal in the scratch (10km) final, and the Uijeongbu City Hall team finished the game with excellent results, with two gold, one silver and one bronze medal.

Park Sang-hoon showed off his best mid- and long-distance skills in Korea and took the honor of being the best player in the men's general division.

Uijeongbu Mayor Ahn Byung-yong said, "The sweat and hard work of the athletes of the Uijeongbu City Hall cycling team has paid off with excellent results."
